Physiotherapy & Rehabilitation in T. Nagar, Chennai
Supervised rehabilitation designed around your specific surgery or injury — the part that determines your final result.
Surgery restores the structure. Rehabilitation restores the function. A technically perfect knee replacement in a patient who does not do the rehabilitation produces a stiff, weak knee — and a well-rehabilitated patient often outperforms someone with a more elegant operation. This is not a supporting service; it is half the treatment.
Rehabilitation here is prescribed by the same surgeon who performed the operation and knows exactly what was done, what tissue was repaired, and what it can safely tolerate at each stage. Generic protocols downloaded from the internet do not account for the specific graft used or the fixation achieved.
Programmes run for post-operative patients, for injuries being managed without surgery, and for pre-operative conditioning — which has good evidence for improving recovery after joint replacement and ACL reconstruction.
Programmes we run
- Post knee and hip replacement rehabilitation
- ACL and ligament reconstruction return-to-sport programmes
- Post-fracture stiffness and strength recovery
- Frozen shoulder mobilisation programmes
- Back and neck pain core and postural strengthening
- Pre-operative conditioning before joint replacement
- Balance and fall-prevention training for older patients
- Sports conditioning and injury-prevention work
How our rehabilitation works
Surgeon-directed protocols
Your programme is set by the surgeon who operated, based on the specific repair performed and how secure the fixation is. Progression is tied to healing biology, not to a generic timetable.
Measured, not estimated
Range of movement, strength and function are measured at defined intervals so progress is objective and plateaus are identified early rather than at the final review.
Supervised, then independent
Early sessions are supervised in the clinic to establish correct technique. You are then progressed to a home programme with review, because sustained daily work matters more than occasional supervised sessions.
Prehabilitation where time allows
For planned surgery, four to six weeks of pre-operative strengthening measurably improves post-operative recovery — particularly quadriceps strength before knee replacement.
