Digital X-ray & Orthopaedic Diagnostics in T. Nagar

On-site digital X-ray with same-visit interpretation by the surgeon — diagnosis and treatment plan in one appointment.

Dr. Pankaj Hingarh, MBBS, MS (Orthopaedics) T. Nagar, Chennai Digital X-ray on site

Being sent across town for an X-ray and asked to come back another day is one of the more avoidable frustrations in Indian healthcare. Digital X-ray is available at the clinic itself, so you are examined, imaged and given a treatment plan within a single visit.

It also means the images are interpreted by the surgeon who has just examined you, with your symptoms and clinical findings in mind. Radiology read in isolation from the patient misses context — a finding that is significant in one patient is an incidental irrelevance in another.

Digital radiography uses a substantially lower radiation dose than conventional film, produces images in seconds, and allows contrast and magnification to be adjusted on screen to examine a specific area properly.

Imaging available

  • Digital X-ray of all limbs, joints and the spine
  • Weight-bearing knee X-rays for accurate arthritis grading
  • Standing alignment views for deformity assessment
  • Post-injury fracture imaging with same-visit reporting
  • Serial follow-up X-rays to confirm fracture union
  • Post-operative implant position and alignment checks
  • MRI and CT arranged at partner imaging centres where required

Why on-site imaging matters

1

One visit, one decision

Examination, imaging and treatment plan happen in the same appointment. For a working patient or an elderly one, that difference is substantial.

2

Correct views, taken correctly

Knee arthritis has to be assessed standing, not lying down — a supine film can make a bone-on-bone knee look preserved. We take the view the clinical question actually requires.

3

Lower radiation dose

Digital radiography reduces dose considerably compared with conventional film, which matters most in children and in patients needing repeated follow-up films.

4

Images stay with you

You are given digital copies for your records, for insurance claims, and for any second opinion you wish to seek. They are yours.

Questions

Digital X-ray & Diagnostics — your questions answered

Still unsure about something? Call +91 99622 45671 and ask.

Do I need an appointment for an X-ray?
No. Digital X-ray is available during consultation hours on a walk-in basis, alongside your consultation.
Is an X-ray safe?
The radiation dose from a limb X-ray is very small — comparable to a few days of ordinary background radiation. Digital systems reduce it further. Women who are or may be pregnant should tell us before any X-ray is taken.
Will I get a copy of my X-ray?
Yes. Digital copies are provided for your records, for insurance purposes and for any second opinion.
Can I bring X-rays taken elsewhere?
Please do, and bring the originals along with any previous reports and operation notes. Comparing current with previous images is often more informative than any single film.
