Frequently Asked Questions

Practical answers about visiting the clinic, how we diagnose, and how treatment works. For anything not covered here, call +91 99622 45671.

Visiting the clinic

Do I need an appointment, or can I walk in?
Walk-ins are accepted throughout consultation hours — 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM and 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Monday to Saturday. Calling +91 99622 45671 ahead usually reduces your waiting time and lets us prepare if you are coming in with a suspected fracture.
Where exactly is the clinic?
Shree Hingarh Ortho Clinic is at 7B, 4B, Thirumurthy Street, Parthasarathi Puram, T. Nagar, Chennai 600017 — a short walk from Panagal Park and roughly five minutes by auto from Kodambakkam Railway Station.
What should I bring to my first visit?
Any previous X-rays, MRI or CT films and reports, a list of your current medications, previous operation notes if relevant, and your insurance details. Wear or bring clothing that allows the affected limb to be examined properly.
Is the clinic open on Sunday?
No, the clinic is closed on Sundays. For an urgent injury, call +91 99622 45671 for advice or attend your nearest hospital emergency department.
Which languages can I consult in?
English, Tamil, Hindi and Marwari.
Is there parking at the clinic?
Street parking around Thirumurthy Street is limited, as it is throughout T. Nagar. Arriving at the start of a consultation session is easiest, and many patients find an auto more practical than driving in.

Diagnosis & tests

Do you have an X-ray facility on site?
Yes. Digital X-ray is available at the clinic during consultation hours, so most patients are examined, imaged and given a treatment plan within a single visit rather than across several.
Do I need an MRI?
Usually not. An MRI is warranted when the clinical examination suggests a soft-tissue injury whose confirmation would change treatment. Scanning without a matching clinical picture tends to find incidental changes that are present in plenty of pain-free people, and creates anxiety rather than answers.
Can I bring X-rays taken elsewhere?
Please do — bring the original films along with any reports and previous operation notes. Comparing current images against previous ones is often more informative than any single film.
Will I get a copy of my X-ray?
Yes. Digital copies are provided for your records, for insurance claims and for any second opinion you wish to seek.

Treatment & surgery

Will I need surgery?
Most patients seen at the clinic do not. The great majority of orthopaedic problems are managed with medication, injections, physiotherapy and activity modification. Surgery is recommended when the evidence supports it for your specific condition, and the reasoning is explained to you before you decide.
Can I get a second opinion on surgery recommended elsewhere?
Yes, and we see a steady number of such patients. Bring all your imaging and reports. You will get an honest assessment — including agreement with the original recommendation where that is what the evidence shows.
Where are surgical procedures performed?
Surgery is performed at affiliated hospitals — Chennai National Hospital (Kilpauk and Parrys), Murugan Hospital Kilpauk, and Gericare Hospital. Consultation, X-ray and follow-up all take place at the T. Nagar clinic.
Who will actually perform my operation?
Dr. Pankaj Hingarh performs the surgery himself and personally conducts your follow-up reviews. You are not handed between a consulting doctor, an operating team and a follow-up junior.
Is physiotherapy available at the clinic?
Yes. Rehabilitation programmes are run at the clinic and are directed by the operating surgeon, so progression is based on what was actually repaired rather than on a generic protocol.

Insurance & payment

Do you accept health insurance?
Yes. Joint replacement and most surgical procedures are covered by major Indian health insurance policies and by cashless TPA arrangements at our affiliated hospitals, subject to your policy terms. Our team assists with pre-authorisation paperwork.
What payment methods do you accept?
Cash, UPI, credit and debit cards, and health insurance including cashless arrangements at affiliated hospitals.
